Spellenspektakel 2025
Spellenspektakel 2025 once again proved why it’s the beating heart of the tabletop gaming world: not just in the Netherlands, but far beyond. Over an action-packed weekend, halls buzzed with energy as players, publishers, and creators came together to celebrate everything from timeless classics to bold new innovations.
The Area of White Goblin Games
Major industry names like Asmodee, Ravensburger, and Mattel drew crowds with show-stopping displays and fan-favorite titles such as Uno Show ‘Em No Mercy and Azul. Yet what truly defined this year’s event was the rise of smaller publishers and indie designers who are redefining what tabletop gaming can be. Their creativity, craftsmanship, and fearless innovation made it clear: the future of gaming isn’t just in the hands of giants.
At Playcracy, we had the pleasure of testing and taking home several of these standout new releases: so if you haven’t already, sign up for our newsletter to follow our upcoming coverage and in-depth reviews.
Among the many hidden gems, Abbates and Driving Me Crazy were clear highlights. Meanwhile, copies of Jolly Dutch’s Gelati were exposed to the crowd with an irresistible touch: real gelato for players to enjoy at the event!
Players challenging each other at Spellenspektakel
What made Spellenspektakel’s atmosphere truly electric, however, was the diversity of vision behind each publisher’s mission. Take Science Normalised, for example: their goal to make science and physics accessible and engaging to all audiences shone brilliantly through Elementary, a game that manages to be both educational and genuinely fun and that we encourage you to check out.
The event ran from 10 AM to 6 PM across both the 8th and 9th of November, offering a seamless blend of excitement and relaxation. Visitors could explore new titles, take part in tournaments, or unwind in cozy rest areas with food, drinks, and friendly conversation.
Exploding Kittens at Spellenspektakel
By the end of the weekend, one thing was certain: Spellenspektakel 2025 captured the hearts of both young newcomers and seasoned players alike. It was more than just a convention; it was a vibrant reminder of why we gather around tables to play, connect, and imagine.
